I was so surprised by how much Cottonwood has changed since I was there. I took notes on everything and here is the list I came up with.
1. There was a real mascot there! Like someone dressed up like a colt. Daren said it looked like a giraffe. In all my years of high, all 3 of them, we NEVER had a human mascot.
2. They had there HUGE flags that the cheer leaders would run down the track with every time we scored. We had nothing of the sort.
3. When we pulled in the parking lot, which to park in the good parking lot you now need a "pass"(we had one :)), there was a PEP RALLY going on. People were eating food, playing on BOUNCE HOUSES, and dancing the night away. FREAK! WHY DIDN'T WE HAVE BOUNCE HOUSES?
4. They have cool things to buy to show you Colt Pride. They have a much bigger selection of things to wear plus they had these really cute rod iron things you can put in your garden that say "Colt Pride" with a cute little logo.
5. During halftime they announced the Homecoming Royalty. P.S. All the girls were NOT cute! But they drove them around the track in cars. When I went there they had to walk down the long, steep stairs of the stadium.
Too bad I didn't go to school in the "Scott Cate" era. HA! I'm funny!
There are few things that haven't changed though. I still think we have the prettiest high school field. And the cheers. I love Colts cheers. Also, the Dance Company, or Drill Team, whatever you want to call it, still sucks!
I remember my senior year of high school we won our homecoming game...it was the first homecoming game Cottonwood had won in like a million years, okay maybe like 30. Seriously, 30 years. It was a pretty big deal.
After the game, well it had been a good 2 hours after the game, we went to dinner with my family. Daren learned where I get my dramatic side when I get hungry, from my daddy!
Saturday night was the dance and my mom volunteered to feed all 38 kids in her club house. She is a brave woman. Daren and I, unfortunately, had to leave around 11:30 Saturday morning so we couldn't stick around to see how things turned out. According to my mom, Shane, and the pictures, it looks like it turned out pretty good!
Shane and his date, Maddie.
Shane and friends. I don't really remember their names.
The GIGANTIC group.Saturday night we took Bear to Petsmart to buy him some new chewing toys. Hopefully this will entertain him so he doesn't chew on our CHAIRS anymore! My poor yellow chairs. He seems to enjoy them, his new toys that is. One of them he had already devoured. The other one I think will take more time....
He's also learned how to get behind the curtains and look at the window. It's really funny!
These are pictures for Bear playing the canal at James and Susi's.
AND! The canyon was ever more BEAUTIFUL. I tried to take more pictures with my actual camera. It still doesn't do it justice.
Anyways. I'm bored with this post. And I need to make lunch. And clean our bedroom. Yuck.
Peace.
