it's hot

Holy moses it's hot outside!! Summer is definitely upon us! Our poor corn is struggling to keep up. In fact, I swear it's shrinking...Daren assures me it's not though!

Lots of random happenings around here in between all the holiday fun!

I made jam! Raspberry to be exact! Daren's parents have a TON of raspberries and we were lucky enough to get a big helping of them this year. This is 4 batches of it. It is YUMMO!

We had a homeowners issue this month too! We came home one tonight and we were putting our newly made jam away in the freezer outside when Daren heard a weird noise. He turned out and our kitchen light had fallen from the ceiling. He tried to screw back up into the ceiling until we got a new light and the light bulb EXPLODED! All over him! It was cra! Turns out we were getting a new light sooner than later! Like now! Off to Home Depot we went! The new light looks great. Now we just need to fix our ceiling. We are going to rip out cabinet and repaint the ceiling while we are at it too! Fun stuff!

Sometimes being married into the Tibbitts family, you get to be apart of fun adventures. This was one of them...James bought a couple old trucks to help restore another truck he has. Daren went over to help him move the trucks into the backyard. Remember neither one of them runs...it was quite the sight! Always an adventure!

Susi, Annie, and I threw Danielle a baby shower last weekend! Her and Andy are having a baby boy. He is due in September! We had it in the morning. We had a yogurt bar, quiche, and yummy donuts! I think it turned out great! When Danielle got married we made her a bridal mum. Mum's are a big thing in the south. I guess all the boys make them for the girls and then the girls wear them all week...I don't know. For some reason Danielle thinks it's hysterical which is why we made one for her wedding. And now...one for baby! Annie and I made her some fun onesies too!

One afternoon James and Susi were at our house just hanging out. Daren fell asleep on the couch but that didn't stop Adison from using him as a table! It was so funny! He had no idea and she didn't care! I tell you what...those 2...best buddies! It melts my tender heart when I see them together.

Bear met a new little baby kitty too! And he tried to eat it. It was pretty entertaining to watch him try and interact with the cat. He did pretty good...as long as Daren was holding the kitty close. He sat and stared at it for a good 5 minutes.

We also attended the Annual Sidewalk Sale with Annie and Harley and Danielle and Andy. It was a fun night walking up and down the streets. After the sidewalk sale, we went to dinner. Loved these pillows and I really wish I had bought those alien sunglasses! They were only $2...they would have made great white elephant gifts!

That's all for now my loves! Been a nice and relaxing month..especially with no Tuesday activies! We
finally hit a $5 movie last night! WOOT!

4th o' july

Oh boy do I love a good 4th of July weekend! Ones that are filled with sun, pools, diet cokes, and family! And that is exactly what our 4th of July weekend consisted of! Logan doesn't do their fireworks on the actual 4th, which is kind of awesome because then I get to watch fireworks ALL weekend long! Be prepared for lots of pictures!

Ever since James and Susi moved, we have been trying to find our new normal for the Logan fireworks...this year they were on the 1st. Anywho, I think this year we found it! We went down to Bridgerland and set up came on their lawn. It was awesome. Lots of space for the kids to run and around and not completely embarrass us, shady, not a ton of people, a great view of the fireworks...def not a close one but still good enough for me! I think we will return next year!

Also, I am basically obsessed with the children! Don't you just want to squish those little cheeks on Beckett?!

Saturday was the PERFECT day! It consisted of pedicures, pools, parents, and diet coke. Susi and I went and got a much needed pedicure Saturday morning and then headed to the pool to meet the rest of family. After swimming for a few hours, Daren and I left to meet up with my parents who came in town for the car show parade. We had dinner and then headed over to the parade. It was a pretty good parade this year too! Not too many advertisements or ghetto cars.

Monday was the actual 4th. It started with the Hyrum parade. We had a great spot for the parade. Not too many people around us and it was mostly shaded. Boom!

After the parade, we just hung out at home until it was time for our party! We threw a weenie roast party and played water balloon volleyball (which was a hit!) and then we walked over to the park and watched the fireworks! It was a fun night!! I really love our backyard for parties! It's big and by the time 5:00 rolls around, it is pretty much all shaded!

T'was a great holiday! I feel very blessed to live in a free country! The only sad part of the weekend was I didn't get one single family picture of us! Not even a picture of me and Daren! It's a shame I tell you!! Oh well...Maybe I will recreate one later...or on the 24th!
