it was my birthday!

Yes, it's true. My birthday week was last week and it was awesome! It was full of my favorite things and a lot of relaxing...which comes with being unemployed. I made sure I did MORE relaxing that usual...

Daren and I went to Salt Lake the last 2 weekends. Daren helped my dad install hardwood floor in his office. It looks great! They did a most excellent job! My mom wants it done in the whole house now...pretty sure my dad will pay someone to do it! It's hard work and both my dad and Daren were very sore for a few days after!

If anyone wonders where I get my extreme OCD list making from...enlarge these and read them.
I get it from my dad!

It's done!

We also had delicious cake and ice cream with my mom dad!

Throughout the week we ate delicious food, went to lunch with some amazing ladies, got a pedicure, opened one of the best gifts ever, and of course ate more cake!

Haden tried to help...pretty sure he just spit on it.

Okay so here is the story of my amazing present! Did I tell you guys that our ward was the Stake Softball Champs this year? Well we were...don't be too impressed. We only won it because nobody ever showed up to play. BUT! It's still a win and I was so excited! I've never been a Champion before. I kept telling the stake man that I wanted a trophy or something. He didn't come through for me. SO! Daren had one made for me for my birthday! Seriously, isn't that the cutest thing EVER?!? Oh man, I heart him so much!

It will forever be displayed in our living room.

This last weekend we went down to Salt Lake so Daren could help my dad do the finishing touches on the floor and finish the closet. Later that night we went to the Bee's game. We sat right behind home plate. Dang gina it was hot! It was muggy more than anything but it was still a good time. The best part of the night happened after the game. A solider surprised his young family on the field. It was so awesome! Everyone was cheering and I was crying! And then after that they had fireworks. They put on a pretty amazing firework show. It totally rocked my world!

Definitely a good way to send off summer, and ring in a new age. 27...closer to 30. Barf.

hancey family campout

Every year during the first part of August, the Hancey's (Daren's mom side), get together for a campout. We usually go up to this ideal cabin in Logan canyon. It's a small cabin but there is a huge grass area surrounding the place and it's next to the river. Well, due to all the snow and run off we got this year, the cabin got hit with a TON of water, making it unavailable to us to use. It was a sad time...UNTIL we made a new game plan!

This year Daren's siblings and families camped out in mom and dad's backyard! Just like we were kids! It was SO fun! We pitched tents, stayed up late playing games, and most of all having a GOOD TIME! Everyone was completely exhausted by the end of the weekend!

Usually Daren has to work so we could only be around at night but this year he took off Thursday and Friday! It was so wonderful having him around!

Thursday, we went to the fair. I love me a good fair! This time was no different! We went when it first opened so the weather was perfect and crowds were minimal.

Check out how tall this corn was! Keep in mind that Daren is 6'7".

Going on the big slide! It's my favorite and I totally caught some air this year!

After the fair, we sent up camp, ate dinner, got snow cones, and then played games!

Friday morning we had a huge breakfast with the entire Hancey family, then we headed up to the cabin to do some service. There were SO many branches and sticks that came up on the property from the river. We cleaned them up and restocked the wood pile. I couldn't believe all the debris. It was very overwhelming.

This picture doesn't even do it justice...

Later that night we had a big dinner at Neil's house. That is where James and Susi announced they are PREGNANT! It was very exciting and we are so happy for them!
They put this shirt on Haden and then just let him walk around. I noticed it first...and I wasn't very quiet about it. My bad...

Saturday we went over to Bear Lake. It was an intense day...We didn't leave til like noon, and we wanted to leave early in the morning. The only beach open is on the North side of the lake and there were like a million people there. When we drove in we asked if people could reserve parking spots with chairs and they said no...so we parked in parking spots that people were saving with chairs, which didn't make people very happy. THEN! Daren almost beat the crap out of some guy that was giving his mom a hard time. Some people are just so uptight. We were setting up a pop tent and needed a little bit more room so we walked into "their space" and this lady went totally crazy! Daren's mom was trying to tell her that we weren't setting up pack in their space but the lady wouldn't listen. Then her son started getting involved so Daren stepped up and made his presence known. The guy backed away and we went on our merry way. It's funny how people get so crazy about their space. It's a freaking public beach! We paid the exact same amount of money to get in! Whatev. We had a good time. We didn't stay too long though...but don't worry we definitely got a Raspberry shake on the way out!

HAHA! I love my father-in-law! He was totally asleep!

And finally, because we weren't all completely exhausted, we decided to go boating at Hyrum Dam when we got home. I was banking on the boat not working, like it usually does. But guess what?! IT WORKED! We were out for about 3 hours...it was the most boating we have done in 3 years! WOOT! I still hate the thing...

The water was VERY cold...can you tell by the look on his face?!

If only the can was really open...for some reason Haden thought it was!

Wow, that was a long post! It was a long weekend but definitely one to remember!!
