sweet mercy

Where did the weekend go?! Can't we have 6 day weekends? I would REALLY love that.

Daren and I made an over-due trip down to the SLC.

I got rid of my ghetto nasty roots, had a delicious cheesecake brownie with some of my besties, and then met Daren and my 'rents at Shane's game. What was my dear, sweet husband doing? Hanging out with my parents! And he enjoyed himself! I LOVE that Daren and my parents get along! I don't feel as guilty as I would if I made him sit at a hair salon on a Saturday afternoon for 3 hours.

Cheri, and Mel and her babies. I love her little Dylan. He's SO cute! Just look at that face!

Baby Sophie!
OH I LOVE HER! I didn't want the gathering to end because I wanted to keep holding her!
So many squishy babies! I love it!

Here is Shane sitting during his 10 minute "time-out" after getting his first technical. He's number 34.
By the way, 10 minutes is a long time in Jr. Jazz land.

Shooting.
Go team! They lost though. It was kind of a sad time.

Later that night Daren made homemade pizza....YUMMY and we watched the Olympics. It's so nice to be able to spend time with my cute family and not have to worry about doing anything else!

Sunday my little brother, Shane, got his patriarchal blessing. I'm SO proud of him! Kind of funny that the day before he got 2 technical fouls and a flagrant foul in his basketball game. Oh and he forgot his recommend for the blessing so he LITERALLY had to run home and get it. Luckily it was in walking distance. HA! Only Shane!

Here is a picture of my nephew. We put him in a box on Sunday. It was funny.
Man I love this child and his crazy hair!

P.S. Today is my half birthday! WOOT! Cold Stone for dinner tonight! And maybe Costa Vida....

lovers day

Hello lovers of the land!

I trust you all had a marvelous Valentine's Day weekend!

Our's was TERRIFIC! Any time where I get to spend the ENTIRE weekend with my lover is grand!

It all started on Thursday...We bought a new mattress! PRAISE THE HEAVENS! Daren has NOT been sleeping because our old mattress hurt his back. I felt so sad for him! He was always so tired. It was a sad time. Anywho, we decided to take advantage of the President's Day sales and buy a new one. We LOVE our new mattress. Luckily the one we wanted, they had in stock so we were able to take it home that night! WOOT! We have slept GREAT ever since we got it. PLUS it is WAY taller than our last one. I feel like a queen! HA!

2 thumbs up.

I think they are both sold on the new one!

On Friday we had our ward Valentine's party- adults only. Daren and I are on the activities committee so we must be in attendance for these functions. Other than running out of prime rib and having to call Iron Gate Grill to buy the rest of their prime rib AND watching 80 year old people sing songs that I'd never heard of (That was our official entertainment. I was really worried that one of them was going to die on stage.)....it was good! We had people sign up to be table hostesses. At first I thought it was a lame idea but turns out, it was pretty fun! All the tables were different and everyone went to a lot of work to make them beautiful.

These are a few of my fav...

I love the young men in our ward...they were trying to get in every picture I took of the table. Luckily they didn't succeed.

Saturday morning we got up, did some grocery shopping and Daren bought me these....
Aren't they so pretty?! LOVE THEM!

And then we bought this beauty!
A belgium waffle maker! I've been wanted one for so long! VICTORY! We had belgium waffles for breakfast and they were so good!

We also took the puppy to the park on Saturday. It was quite delightful!
My hubby is so hot!

He loves to run his brains out!

Saturday night we went to dinner at Elements and it was DELICIOUS! I do have to say that Daren ordered a better dish but both were very good! We will definitely return! After dinner we came home and watched Couples Retreat and it was HILARIOUS!

P.S. I would like to go to Bora Bora, anyone want to sponsor my trip? Great. Thanks.

My mouth was full of toffee...please excuse my chipmunk cheeks.

Orange Pumpkin Cheesecake = A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

You must be wondering if we got each other gifts. We did indeed BUT Daren picked out his own and I picked out mine...and the majority of them aren't even here yet! Yes I know, we are awesome. Daren picked out a cover for the back seat of the truck...to keep Bear from destroying the leather. I felt bad that his gift was so lame but he was really excited about it...and that is all that matters! He also order a digital thermometer and some crazy spices from Pampered Chef. I bought some Lia Sophia jewelry and I am VERY excited to get it. Hopefully this week we will get everything!

Since we celebrated V-day on Saturday, Sunday didn't really feel like Valentine's Day...in fact, I don't think I even told Daren 'Happy Valentine's Day' until my father-in-law said it to me....at 5:00. YIKES.

In other exciting news....

I bought Shannon and I tickets to Sugarland and we are SO FREAKING EXCITED! I was able to get us seats on the 15th row! ROW 15 PEOPLE! WOOT!

Look what my cute husband bought me! I've been trying to find one of these and I finally found one at the salon were I get my eyebrows waxed...so he bought it!

Don't I look so cute!?! HA! But seriously...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Now I must go enjoy my day off...it is my last one until Spring Break in April. March is going to be a long month...

super bowl

The smell of victory is SWEET my friends!

We had a GREAT Super Bowl Sunday. We had good food, awesome company, and an AMAZING win! Wasn't that a good game?! And there were some pretty funny commercials too!

However, halftime = BORING!

Daren's work has been having a football pool thing going on all season and Daren WON it! The whole dang thing! HELLO $125 in our pockets! CHA CHING!

I just want to point how amazing my husband is! If the Colts had won, then there would have been a tie for 1st place so it would come down to whoever guess the closest number of the combine scores. Does that make sense? Anyways, Daren guessed 48....and what was the total combined score?! 48!! I was such a proud wife last night! I still am!

I told Daren I wanted it all in $1's and so we could roll around in it! TMI? Maybe.

Can you tell I like to win? HA! Second place would have been $50, which is still awesome...but lets be honest I REALLY wanted 125 big ones!

I only took pictures of the food last night...go figure!

Meatballs....YUMMY!

I had these Lemon- Cream Cheese cupcakes and they were AMAZING!

GO SAINTS!

P.S. In case you haven't noticed...or care for that matter, I deleted my Project 365 blog. I got bored with it...especially on days where nothing happened. Sometimes you just have NOTHING to take a picture of. Eh.

usu b-ball

Last night, Daren and I went to dinner and to the USU basketball game with Ally and Shad.

Everyone should experience a game in the Spectrum before they die....it will change your life. For reals.

USU played San Jose State...we won by like 20. It was a good time! I LOVED going to games when I was in college, and I still love it!. I want to get season tickets for next year.

There is nothing like hearing the crowd chant, 'Doofus' or 'You will miss it' when the other team is shooting a free throw, and then chanting 'We were right' when they really did. Another one of my favs from last night is when they chanted 'Truffle Shuffle' at one of the players from San Jose. At the end of the night when it was clear that the Aggie's were going to win, the students started yelling 'Winning team, losing team' while pointing to the appropriate team. I love me some Aggie basketball.

And I tell you what, every time I sing 'The Scotsman' it still sends a chill up my spine and brings a tear to my eye.

Half time was awesome! The Golden Girls performed. They are a group of dancing ladies between the age of 52-93. I believe the announcer said last night they are performing at a Celtics game soon.
Long term goal: Be a Golden Girl

They are doing the robot!

She is 93! And she had MOVES!

93 PEOPLE! Doing the splits! It was AWESOME!

What is wrong with this picture?
If you haven't noticed the large, half-naked, scuba diver....well then look closer!

Show me the Scotsman who doesn't love the thistle!!

Thanks Ally and Shad for a great night!

doing the dishes

Last night, Daren and I watched Angie's kids for a few hours.

After dinner the 2 older kids sat down to watch Pirates of the Caribbean with Daren.

I knew that my little monkey wouldn't sit down to watch it.

So.....

I put him to work!

We did the dishes! He actually really likes to do them. He always helps grandpa do them after Sunday dinners. I'm not sure my how father-in-law manages. I felt like my kitchen was flooding by the time we were done and it took probably 5 times longer to do them. BUT! It sure was fun! I love my monkey!

Child slavery at it's best! KIDDING!!

It was about this point that I realized I should have probably taken off ALL his clothes. His pants and socks were soaking wet. Which resulted in him going home with his sister's leg warmers on. Pretty hilarious!

While at my house he ate 2 bites of corn, 1 bite of his roll, some dog food, dish soap (as seen above), and an otter pop. We are REALLY awesome baby sitters.

My chair sure got a good wash!

I would say that is was a pretty successful night! No one died! WOOT!

puppy at the park

Saturday was a semi-decent day out....the sun was at least out. We took Bear over to the middle school and let him run his guts out.

The trees looked so cool! It was like someone painted the branches white.

Such a tired puppy.

Saturday night my mom and dad came up to visit us. We took them to Smokin' Blues and it was delicious! They we got Aggie Ice Cream. I've lived in Logan for almost 8 years, and only in the past year have my parents ever had Aggie Ice Cream...now they are hooked! My dad even brought a cooler with him so they could take some home!
