mt. logan

Yesterday, on the day of Labor, we ventured up to the top of Mt. Logan. You heard me, the TOP. Like 10 million miles above sea level. It took us about 5 hours total and it was REALLY bumpy and sometimes quite frightening at times. I think I stopped breathing a few times...and puppy did NOT like it. I think he would have been okay if he had more room in the truck...but with 4 adults, 1 baby, and 2 dogs in one truck, there wasn't much room besides on mama's lap.

We had a good time though! It was quite beautiful at the top and you could see the ENTIRE valley...I bet I even saw your house. True story.

There were a bunch of sheep on the side of the mountain and Daren wanted Bear to go herd them. As they got closer about 6 huge dogs came over to protect the sheep. Daren and Bear came back pretty quickly after that!

On the way down we pulled over and shot some cans and bottles.

a little update

Hello all!

Long time no type, yeah?

Don't worry all is well in the good town of Providence!

The 31st was the 4 year anniversary of our first date! Isn't that wild?! SO grateful for my hubby!

Our bed frame broke...and then Daren and the men fixed it. Which is totally awesome because I REALLY didn't want to buy a new one.

In a matter of about 2 hours the other day, I had already filled up 2 weekends in DECEMBER with holiday events. And so the season begins...if you want us to make an appearance at your holiday event, book us now! HA! Kidding...but seriously.

We have been busy little monkeys lately. Daren has been super busy at work and is TOTALLY rocking at it! I am SO proud of him! Seriously people, he works SO hard to provide for me and the puppy. We are very grateful for him!

School started last week....lets all cry together. It's been quite the week and a half so far. New teacher and 3 new students...one is a holy nightmare...It's going to be a long year. But I'm sure everything will be fine once we start getting the hang of things and whatnot....I miss you Heather!

This weekend has been quite the fantastic one. We did some shopping and cleaning. We also took puppy to the puppy park. It was just so nice to spend the day together and not be in a hurry to do anything or running across the whole world. I love my little family!

happy birthday to me!

That's right folks, it was my day of birth yesterday, and we've been celebrating ALL week!

Just the way I like it...

My birthday was AWESOME this year! I did a lot of shopping, ate a lot of delicious food that Daren made me, got a pedicure and a massage AND got to spend time with both families! This was the first year in probably 8 years that I actually got to wake up at my parent's on my actual  birthday. Good times.

This is the card Daren got me. I thought it was pretty funny.

Saturday, we went down to Salt Lake and had a picnic in the mountains with my family to celebrate mine and my mom's birthday and then went to the Bee's game. We got to watch the game in a suite! It's totally the way to go! We got all you can eat Mexican food, popcorn, and ice cream. After the game they had fireworks and they were some of the best fireworks I have EVER seen!

Sunday, we had dinner and MORE celebrating with Daren's family.

A beautiful sunset to end such a perfect week!

Daren spoiled me through out the entire week. We ate all of my favorite foods and opened presents almost everyday! I SERIOUSLY have the best husband EVER! He told me that next year he is going to have to really disappoint me so he can start over because this birthday was so amazing. HA! 

It was such a great week and weekend! Thanks to everyone who made it so awesome! And for all the phone calls, e-mails, texts, and Facebook messages. You guys are the bomb...dot com!

the fair and boating

The carnies were in town this weekend!

Daren and I went to the fair Friday night and it totally rocked my world. There is something about a carnival on a summer night that is so magical.

Susi and I went on one of those potato sacks slides and it was AWESOME! If it didn't cost $3 a turn I totally would have done it all night. I don't remember the rides being so expensive...$4 for a ride, seriously?!

Anywho, we walked around all the booths and enjoyed the live country music. As we were leaving I swear the band started playing Crazy Train by Ozzy...country style.

Saturday we went boating....and it was the WORST day of boating EVER! We were suppose to leave at 10, we didn't leave until almost noon. We couldn't find the keys to the boat so we had to hot wire it using the horn. The boat stopped working in the middle of a ride. It took 3 hours to fix it. We lost the anchor so Daren had to be the human anchor for the day. My dog jumped ship so I had to jump in after and we swam to shore. Both Daren and I got sunburned. We were only planning on being out at for a couple hours...we didn't get home until almost 8. BLAH! 

This is the only picture I took that was worth while. Doesn't he look so uncomfortable. It was pretty funny to watch him try to move with a life jacket on. 

So I don't end this post on a negative note, here is a picture of my nephew, Haden, before we left for the fair.

We took the boat out yesterday and it STILL worked! It's a Christmas Miracle!

It was a GOOD time!

I love being on the water! Mainly I just like working on my tan...

Hyrum Dam is so beautiful! And the water wasn't even that cold either! WOOT!


Daren had the camera most of the afternoon and was taking a lot of video so we didn't get too many pictures!
