snow and domestic goddess

Have you guys been wondering where we have been?!

We've been around, basically taking it easy BECAUSE starting this weekend we are BOOKED until mid- January. You can imagine how thrilled Daren is...

Anyhow! In case you were totally oblivious to the weather last night, we had a "blizzard" come through Logan. And by blizzard I think they met just a snow storm. All day people were saying there was going to be life threatening condition and the power would be out and blah, blah, blah. Needless to say I was freaking out a little. School got out early to beat the storm but Daren had to work until 6. I had some major anxiety about going to get him OR someone bringing him home. You know me....I may or may not be a little dramatic. The storm lasted like 4 hours and then it was gone. Talk about a let down.

Since the storm brought in quite of bit of snow Tom and Daren got the sleds out and drove them up the streets...and in our yard. It was good time. And Bear wasn't even scared of them, which was weird because usually he is. I even drove the sled! I went like 10 mph, which is super fast for me. I was proud of myself.

This is me "jumping." It's hard to jump in snow clothes.

Needless to say, Daren and Bear....and Tom were in heaven.

Today is the start of Thanksgiving break and I have been quite the domestic goddess. Here's what I've been doing....

I made 3 pies. 2 pumpkin and 1 pecan for tomorrow.
I still haven't decided if my pecan pie is a successful or fail.
By the LOOKS of it, I would say it's a fail.
We'll see what the hubby says. I have a feeling that he will say it looks awful just so he can eat it and won't have to share.

I also made these bad boys...will you be getting one for Christmas?
I think they turned out super cute except for the bow is larger than I wanted.
I want to make more so I can keep one.

That's right, those are Cookie Dough truffles!
Don't you wish you were having Thanksgiving with me?!

In the middle of my baking and crafting, puppy and I went outside and played in the snow a little today. It was freaking freezing outside so we were only out there for a little bit. Enough to snap some pictures...

I'm SO excited for this weekend! Food, shopping, and cutting down our Christmas tree!

Have a safe Thanksgiving everyone!

Much love.
