snow and domestic goddess

Have you guys been wondering where we have been?!

We've been around, basically taking it easy BECAUSE starting this weekend we are BOOKED until mid- January. You can imagine how thrilled Daren is...

Anyhow! In case you were totally oblivious to the weather last night, we had a "blizzard" come through Logan. And by blizzard I think they met just a snow storm. All day people were saying there was going to be life threatening condition and the power would be out and blah, blah, blah. Needless to say I was freaking out a little. School got out early to beat the storm but Daren had to work until 6. I had some major anxiety about going to get him OR someone bringing him home. You know me....I may or may not be a little dramatic. The storm lasted like 4 hours and then it was gone. Talk about a let down.

Since the storm brought in quite of bit of snow Tom and Daren got the sleds out and drove them up the streets...and in our yard. It was good time. And Bear wasn't even scared of them, which was weird because usually he is. I even drove the sled! I went like 10 mph, which is super fast for me. I was proud of myself.

This is me "jumping." It's hard to jump in snow clothes.

Needless to say, Daren and Bear....and Tom were in heaven.

Today is the start of Thanksgiving break and I have been quite the domestic goddess. Here's what I've been doing....

I made 3 pies. 2 pumpkin and 1 pecan for tomorrow.
I still haven't decided if my pecan pie is a successful or fail.
By the LOOKS of it, I would say it's a fail.
We'll see what the hubby says. I have a feeling that he will say it looks awful just so he can eat it and won't have to share.

I also made these bad boys...will you be getting one for Christmas?
I think they turned out super cute except for the bow is larger than I wanted.
I want to make more so I can keep one.

That's right, those are Cookie Dough truffles!
Don't you wish you were having Thanksgiving with me?!

In the middle of my baking and crafting, puppy and I went outside and played in the snow a little today. It was freaking freezing outside so we were only out there for a little bit. Enough to snap some pictures...

I'm SO excited for this weekend! Food, shopping, and cutting down our Christmas tree!

Have a safe Thanksgiving everyone!

Much love.

tom and krystal

Happy Veterans Day peeps. We had our Veteran's Day assembly at school today. I cried. There are 2 assembly's that I always cry at. The Veteran's Day one and the Utah one, that one comes in the spring. Anywho! We always have veteran's come and talk about their experiences and then they do a slide show and all the kids sing "I'm Proud to be an American" while the slide show plays. It gets me every time. I can't even make it through the first verse.

My original purpose of this post was to show you some pictures I took of Tom and Krystal. Enjoy!

They are getting married December 18th. So fast! But it will be awesome. We are so happy for them!

so little time....

Hello lovers!

Winter is here and it sucks. I'm not used to the cold yet....and I can't find my gloves.

Oh well.

Daren and I both took the day off on Friday and it was awesome. We slept in, did some shopping, and took Tom and Krystal's engagement pictures. Don't worry I will post a few shortly...

We went to the SLC on Saturday. We left so early we go to see the sun rise in the canyon. It was SO pretty!

When we got to SLC, Daren and I went here.....That's the Draper Temple. My cousin got married and it was quite lovely. The sealing rooms there are SO freaking beautiful! Sweet mercy....

After the temple, my mom and I went shopping all day. It was awesome. Except about half way through the day my feet started KILLING me. SO! I eventually I took my boots off in the middle of Sears. I felt like a whole new woman. I walked around the mall, Costco, and Fresh Market in just my socks. Don't judge me.

Daren and my dad worked on cars all day...Bless Daren's heart. My dad said that Abinadi was once his hero...now it is Daren. Daren told me a few days earlier that he needed some good "Teague Time", don't worry he got it!

We went out to the reception and then to dinner with my parents. And then back home to the puppy. It was a good day in the SLC.

Daren and I also took some cute family pictures with Bear on Sunday. They turned out really cute...but I'm not sharing until after I send out Christmas cards. Sorry kids.

On a side note: Daren got 2 new callings this week. Youth men's basketball coach AND Elder's Quorum teacher. Lucky him.

halloween!

Oh my stars a plenty I LOVE Halloween!

We had a great weekend and it was full o' fun!

Friday night was our ward party. We had a Soup and Chili night with a talent show. It was pretty fun...as fun as a ward party can get!

Saturday morning and afternoon I went to Susi's Super Saturday. Daren stayed home and bonded with the puppy.

Saturday night we went to the Trunk or Treat at Daren's parents ward. The whole family was there and we had a great time! It was raining pretty hard when we got there but luckily they moved it inside to the gym. After the Trunk or Treat we went and visited the grandparents with everyone and then hung out at the house after. It was super fun to spend the whole evening with family.

Our newly engaged couple!!
They got engaged Friday night! WOOT!

Sunday we had a special Halloween dinner at our house that included Mummy Hot Dogs, Mac and Cheese Swamp Creatures, Lizard Eyes, Rotten Teeth apples, Spider bean dip, and Dirt and Worms for dessert. Oh and homemade root beer with dry ice! Everything turned out SO cute!

Can't wait for the next holiday!!
