more summer fun

Lots of summer fun happening over here!!

We went to one of Haden's t-ball games a few weeks ago. It was pretty entertaining to watch. I am pretty sure Haden was over t-ball by the last game! HA!

Daren is a Super Uncle. Look at him carry those chairs AND Adi!

Before we went to the game, we were out shopping for camp chairs since both of ours are broken. Daren got in the truck and totally SPLIT his shorts! Like bad! It was SO funny! I was laughing so hard that tears were coming out! We had to run to Cal Ranch and get him a new pair of shorts. We walk in and he kind of walked around the outside of the store and then someone asked if she could help him find something. He said, "Yes. Shorts." and I just busted up laughing! The poor girl kept staring at me. I made sure she knew I wasn't laughing at her! Oh man it makes me laugh every time I think about it!

We have been having lots of fun with our popsicle bench too! The youth in our ward love it! And that makes me so happy! Speaking of youth...the officially made me Girl Camp Director AND YW Personal Progress Leader. I am pretty excited to be in YW's! I love those girls so much!

Daren's parents have a TON of raspberry plants and they are out of control this year! We went over and pick them for like hour or so and you couldn't even tell we did anything! We picked enough to make 2 batches of raspberry jam. Making jam always makes me so nervous. It's so easy but I also get nervous I am going to mess it up and waste all the fruit! But it turned out super yummy!

The other night we were at Kohl's searching for some new perfume for me. We were smelling a ton of them and they all started to smell the same. Kohl's didn't have any coffee beans out to clear our nasal passages. Daren had the bright idea to start smelling the leather purses. It was so hilarious to see him put his head in a purse and smell. I was dying!! But it worked! My life is definitely not dull with Daren around! After a while one of the workers told us she has some beans to smell.

This weekend we out to Hyde Park for their Pioneer Celebration. It's one of my favorite traditions we have. Daren's aunt and uncle, Mari and Casey, live across the street where they shoot of the fireworks. They also do dinner and fun. I love it! This year they had tacos and got a pinata! There weren't too many other kids there so it was just basically our side of the family getting the candy. The kids were in heaven!

Summer is  more than half way over with! There will be more snow cones and fun! And I can't wait!

girls camp

I was going to wait until I got more pictures from girls camp but I am too impatient.

You guys, girls camp was SO AMAZING! I loved it! I can't even begin to tell you all my experiences. There is such a sweet spirit at girls camp. It was incredible. I love these girls so much! We laughed, we cried, we ate like crap, and loved each other!

It was pretty hot but nothing too unbearable! Luckily, the camp spot next to us was vacant and it was actually a pretty shaded so we hung out there a lot.

It was a stake camp and the stake did a great job! They set the entire camp up like a cruise. So the first evening they had a "BON VOYAGE" party as we set sail on our cruise. They had games, a photo booth, leaders serving everyone drinks, and they had a "salon" set up where you could paint your paints. They had these super cute anchor decals. So darling!

The next day they had "Off Shore Excursions" which were mini workshop/classes and service projects. I was really impressed with the classes. The stake leaders all taught them. Every one I went to was awesome.

The stake also put on a spiritual activity that was amazing. The theme for camp was focused on the parable of the 10 virgins and keeping your lamp full of oil so you are prepared. The stake had 9 different stations, representing each value. They gave a short presentation about the value and that equally a drop of oil in your lamp. Then at the end, they gave everyone a lamp with light in it. So amazing to see 300 lamps lit up!

Of course we had some fun too!! We had some high stakes UNO games. I got some of the girls to teach my Sunday School lesson for me. WOOT! Cheyenne and Syndi had to brush each other's teeth...not sure where or why they decided that but it was pretty entertaining to watch!

We also had a time for archery! The girls rocked it! My favorite moment was when Abby looked over and said, "Watch me mull this deer" and BAM! BULLS EYE!! It was so awesome!

We had a great spiritual activity with our ward too! We played Hand to Hand and I basically cried through the entire game. I am terrible at emotional games like that. We also had our testimony meeting that night. The spirit was SO strong! I forgot how strong it is at girls camp! At the end of the spiritual activity the girls wrote a message on a balloon and set them free. I can't remember exactly what the messages said...I should have blogged about this sooner!

Later that night, like midnight, we had the priesthood leaders wake the girls up and tell them the Bridegroom was coming. We had a pathway lit for them and gave them another lamp with a light. We had a little presentation and spiritual thought. Some of the girls were too thrilled about being woken up but I think they all appreciated it after. All of the leaders got dressed up like old time and I wish I had a picture of all of us! Getting ready was the most HILARIOUS moment of camp. We were laughing to hard at each other. Probably not the best way to prepare for a spiritual moment...but we pulled it together for the girls!

I seriously love these girls and ladies so much! I feel such a closer bond with them! Especially some of the leaders. I gained some amazing friends over the course of those 3 days and I couldn't be more grateful!

Next year I am THE camp director! I am so excited!
