It's been so long since I blogged about normal things and not just the baby! She pretty much takes up our whole lives so it's hard NOT to just blog about her! But we have done some other things recently so here we go...grab your popcorn!
Easter! Daren's mom put together a scavenger Easter hunt for the kiddos. It was pretty fun to watch the kids work together to figure out the clues, even the big kids had fun! Of course we had to do boys vs girls...I can't remember who finished first...I think the boys!
Easter was Doree's first Sunday at church. She didn't care for it much...she still doesn't. But she sure looked cute! Also, there was no sign of the Easter bunny at our house this year! Fail! Maybe next year! Daren was kind enough to remind me that Easter isn't about the bunny so it was just fine!
We also celebrated Jace's birthday last month, He turned the big 3-0! Doree's due date was actually on his birthday. He was unhappy when she was born a week early! Ha! We sure do love Jace!!
We went to a local restaurant here a few weeks ago and tried to eat cooked gator...they ran out pretty fast. We did feast on a million pounds of crawfish though. Side note...eating crawfish sucks. HA! All about the adventure, right?!
We have been doing some yard work too. After 3 years, I think we have FINALLY completed our front flower beds and we LOVE them! They look so good! The front of our house is super colorful and we love it!
We went to SLC to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom. We went to Top Golf and it was SO fun! I loved it and want to go back for my birthday!
Several times the past few weeks we have spent our Monday nights at Swig with Susi and the kiddos. It's been a fun little tradition! Diet coke, cookies, and Adi. Can you get any better?
Baby Doree is just as cute as ever!! She is almost 2 months old! I can hardly believe it! She is still only getting up once a night. There has been a few nights that she has slept until 6am! WOOT! Hoping it starts to become more of a habit! She is officially out of newborn diapers and out of all newborn clothes! She is getting so fun and starting to smile more! For the most part, she loves bathes...she is just so content with warm water running over her and someone rubbing her head...must be her mom's kid!
This last weekend was Memorial Day. My parents came up Saturday and we visited Grandma's grave. We met my aunts and grandpa there too. It was the first time they were able to meet Doree. It was such a special moment to watch my grandpa meet her for the first time. I wish I had my camera out sooner for that meeting!
We also planted our garden yesterday. It seemed to take us forever but we did it! Behind a baby and both of us getting over colds...we were a bit slow. But Doree was quite the champ! She was outside with us all day and, for the most part, quite content! She loves to be outside and observe everything around her! Bear was a great big brother too! Every time we would be working in the garden, leaving her on her blanket, Bear would go over and lay by her. It was quite tender to watch! Made me a proud mama!
