been a while hasn't it?

Wowza...almost 2 months...where do I even begin? How about at the beginning?

The past few weeks and months our lives have been consumed with the following things....

1. We attended the baby blessing of our dear friends, Andy and Danielle's, baby. Baby Miles. What a cutie. And I was just so proud of Andy for giving him a blessing.

While at said baby blessing, Daren was helping put away chairs and basically dead lifted about 6 of them and got a major owie...which leads me to...

2. Surgery! The way he was lifting them caused his bicep tendon to snap and roll up his arm. So gross I know...Anywho. Originally we thought it was just a dislocated elbow. After an attempt to put it back in (by his friends) and a trip to the Instacare...it was discovered it was not his elbow but  the tendon. That was a Saturday night. By Monday morning we were in the Orthopedic surgeon's office discussing surgery. Daren was not too thrilled but really had no choice. We was scheduled for surgery that Thursday before we left the office.

The surgery went very well. The recovery was not as well...The narcotics the doc gave him were too strong which caused Daren to have a mild overdose. It was kind of scary but we got it under control. The side effects of the meds were crappy. I think it made the situation worse for sure. We was in a hard cast for a few days and now he is in a robo cop brace for about month. He can't lift anything heavier than a water bottle for about 3 months. It's been a bit challenging for him mentally but he is a tough cookie and will make it through! I am incredibly proud of him and the progress he has made!

I'm not going to lie, it was pretty scary to watch him be wheeled back to surgery. He has never had major surgery so nobody knew how he would react to anesthesia or anything. The unknown is very scary. It made me quite emotional. Kind of embarrassing...

3. Trees. One of the major projects we wanted to do before winter hit was trim back all the neighbors trees that were hanging over the house. We worked with the neighbors and a guy in our ward to rent a giant bucket lift for the job. This was all planned before Daren hurt himself. But it was decided to go on with the plans. Luckily, we have some really amazing ward members, family, and friends. It was a serious and huge projects. It was a very long day but we got done what we wanted to! Daren and I were both so thankful that so many people were willing to set in and help. I didn't take any before or really any after pictures...just some in betweeners..

People were watching both of us like hawks that day. They didn't want Daren using his arm and they didn't want me lifting anything heavy. Why???

4. BECAUSE WE ARE HAVING A BABY!! Yep! You heard it. Mama is preggo! Holy moly, it is cra and we have been a hot mess over here! HA! We are SO excited! I am due April 11. We find out in 2 weeks if it's a boy or girl. I have been feeling pretty good! No morning sickness...nausea in the afternoons more. Always tired but that is getting better. I am 18 weeks right now. My clothes still fit...although I am getting very anxious about them NOT fitting and not having anything to wear.

It's still pretty crazy to think about. We have been trying for so long. We finally had to have a little help and on a month that I was told the medicine didn't work...well it did! HA! What a surprise to us! And the doc! But a happy surprise!

Our lives have been crazy...and exhausting with all of this happening. Halloween came and went. We didn't dress up, carve pumpkins, or even see the kiddos in their Halloween costumes. We did pass out candy. I guess that is good. Oh well. Next year we will be back in full force!

Life is busy. But life is wonderful. And we are blessed.

Until next time!

fall is upon us

Lots of things happening around here!!

First...my birthday. It was a lovely day. I had to work. Boo. But after we went to dinner and did a little shopping. It was pretty chill but a great day!

Friday night lights have started again! We love spending our Friday nights supporting our favorite coach. It's been a challenging season so far...hopefully things pick up a little. The first game of the season was at the Maverick Stadium up at USU. It was pretty fun to watch them play on that field. Mainly...I just like watching Shane coach. HA!

At the end of August, we helped Angie and her family move to Hailey, Idaho. They relocated for Luiz's job. It is really close to Sun Valley. It was an adventure. On the way home we stopped by this dam/river thing. I can't exactly recall the name of it but it was really pretty! The little bridge Daren and Adi were on would shake and she was quite terrified...hence the pulling on his shirt.

Some exciting news...DAREN GOT A NEW JOB!! YAY!! We are SO excited and so far he loves it! He is now working at Juniper Systems in their shipping department. It's a great company to work for and a great foot in the door! On his last day at Axtell's, he retired his shirt. HA! Up high so nobody could get it.

It's also been harvesting time!! We have made raspberry peach jam...32 jars to be exact, 44 jars of salsa...which Daren did all by himself while I was out of town...and froze our corn...I think we got 40+ bags of corn too. Our corn didn't do as well as I would have liked...maybe next year. Still grateful for what we got! The salsa and jam are YUMMO!! We still have spaghetti sauce to do...hopefully next weekend!

While Daren worked his tail off making all that salsa, I was away with my besties for our annual girls weekend getaway to Park City! We went a little earlier this year and I loved it! The canyon was beautiful and the weather was perfect! We ate, we shopped, we got mani and pedi's, we laughed, we cried, and we painted pottery! A great weekend for sure!!

Last weekend I attended Time Out for Women with my mom and Daren's mom. We had a great and uplifting weekend. I am enjoyed the traditions my mom and I have started by going and I think Daren's mom is on board to come with us too!!

Haden turned 7 this last week! I can't even believe it! 7! Little turd man. We sure do love him and his quirky ways!

Last but not least....Daren started school last week!! Lots of big changes for him recently! He is doing the Pathways Program through BYU-I. So far he really likes it. It is mostly online. They only meet once a week on Thursday nights for a "gathering." I am so proud of him and excited for him! And plus..doesn't he look so cute with that little backpack! Oh my heart!

That's all for now folks! Loving the fall and all that comes with it!
