fall is upon us

Lots of things happening around here!!

First...my birthday. It was a lovely day. I had to work. Boo. But after we went to dinner and did a little shopping. It was pretty chill but a great day!

Friday night lights have started again! We love spending our Friday nights supporting our favorite coach. It's been a challenging season so far...hopefully things pick up a little. The first game of the season was at the Maverick Stadium up at USU. It was pretty fun to watch them play on that field. Mainly...I just like watching Shane coach. HA!

At the end of August, we helped Angie and her family move to Hailey, Idaho. They relocated for Luiz's job. It is really close to Sun Valley. It was an adventure. On the way home we stopped by this dam/river thing. I can't exactly recall the name of it but it was really pretty! The little bridge Daren and Adi were on would shake and she was quite terrified...hence the pulling on his shirt.

Some exciting news...DAREN GOT A NEW JOB!! YAY!! We are SO excited and so far he loves it! He is now working at Juniper Systems in their shipping department. It's a great company to work for and a great foot in the door! On his last day at Axtell's, he retired his shirt. HA! Up high so nobody could get it.

It's also been harvesting time!! We have made raspberry peach jam...32 jars to be exact, 44 jars of salsa...which Daren did all by himself while I was out of town...and froze our corn...I think we got 40+ bags of corn too. Our corn didn't do as well as I would have liked...maybe next year. Still grateful for what we got! The salsa and jam are YUMMO!! We still have spaghetti sauce to do...hopefully next weekend!

While Daren worked his tail off making all that salsa, I was away with my besties for our annual girls weekend getaway to Park City! We went a little earlier this year and I loved it! The canyon was beautiful and the weather was perfect! We ate, we shopped, we got mani and pedi's, we laughed, we cried, and we painted pottery! A great weekend for sure!!

Last weekend I attended Time Out for Women with my mom and Daren's mom. We had a great and uplifting weekend. I am enjoyed the traditions my mom and I have started by going and I think Daren's mom is on board to come with us too!!

Haden turned 7 this last week! I can't even believe it! 7! Little turd man. We sure do love him and his quirky ways!

Last but not least....Daren started school last week!! Lots of big changes for him recently! He is doing the Pathways Program through BYU-I. So far he really likes it. It is mostly online. They only meet once a week on Thursday nights for a "gathering." I am so proud of him and excited for him! And plus..doesn't he look so cute with that little backpack! Oh my heart!

That's all for now folks! Loving the fall and all that comes with it!

summer stuff

Summer is almost over with! While I am excited for fall, I am still sad summer is over with! So many fun things happen in the summer! We have been having lots of fun...while trying not to die of heat!

The end of July, we celebrated Daren's parents birthdays. Instead of giving them something they don't need, we decided to spend a day at the temple followed by a nice dinner. The Logan temple was closed for cleaning the weekend we wanted to do so we drove down to the Ogden temple...which was nice because that is actually where they were married. We had a great afternoon together! We did baptisms for the dead as well as sealings...all family names. We performed over 100 ordinances that day. Not all of the family was able to participate...hopefully it will be a new tradition and more people will be able to participate. After the temple, we met the rest of the family for dinner at Maddox. It was a really great day! We love and appreciate Daren's parents so much! They do so many amazing things for the family and for everyone around them. They definitely deserved to be celebrated all day long!

We also celebrated my cute mama's birthday the beginning of the month! We went down to SLC and had a canyon celebration! We had and hung out in the mountains! We got caught in a slight rain storm but it was sure fun! A little adventure I say! Love my mom! She also deserves to be celebrated all day long! Isn't that picture of my dad and Daren so funny? This is how they emptied the cooler and put the fire out. Made me laugh!

I was able to get together with some old college roommates too! Kourt was in town so we met up with Lindsey for dinner! Always a great time with them!! We could sit and talk for hours...which we pretty much did! And I got to meet Kourtney's new babe, Addison! Oh she is a cute baby!

Daren needed some new shoes a few weeks ago. The pair he needed was on the very top...sometimes it pays to have a tall husband! He is very talented with boxes!

This last weekend we were able to attend the Hancey Family camp out. We had a great time! It was Friday night and Saturday morning/afternoon. We went over Friday night for dinner and a program all about our Hancey ancestors. It was quite informative...a little long but good! The kids also played a pioneer game...digging up potatoes. I'm still not 100% sure the story behind it but the kids had fun playing in the dirt!

Saturday morning we were suppose to go over but Daren got called away for an Elder's Quorum project. We didn't even up getting there until lunch. But we still were able to play some fun games and be together as a family! And of course...the zip line was a hit!

The neighbors had sheep and miniature goats! We got to go over and feed them. Oh be still my heart! I was in heaven. In my next life I am going to own a zoo...or a farm,

We had a YW's movie night at our old bishop's house last night...check out this view from his back yard! We live in a beautiful area and I am so grateful for that!

Last but not least...Daren got a new job!! WOOT!! He starts a week from Monday. So this week will be his last week at Axtell's. He has been there almost 10 years! So crazy to think of this chapter ending but I am SO happy! He is going to be working for a great company with better opportunities! While change is scary, it will be worth it. I am SO proud of him! It's been challenging but I know he is going to be amazing at this job!

That's all folks!
