4th of july

I love the 4th of July! This year we didn't really get to celebrate it too much because we were working on the house. We did go to James and Susi's annual party the night before the 4th! It was fun! There was lots of family and friends there to visit with! And the fireworks were wonderful as always!

On the actual 4th we worked on the house and then watched the Hyrum fireworks from...OUR BACKYARD! Yep, you heard me!! We can see the fireworks from our new backyard!! I was SO happy! Party at our house next year!

Saturday we worked on the house, did some shopping, my parent's came up and we went to dinner and then over the car show parade. And then we spent 1.5 hours at Lowes...story of our life lately! HA! I love it though!

First we saw the back of truck at the car show parade...which is gross....

Then we saw this father covered his young son's eyes. They were right behind it the entire time! Poor dad had to cover his kids eyes the entire parade!! Everyone clapped for the dad. Do you think the kid got car sick??

What a week! Grateful to live in this country and enjoy all the freedoms we have!! And I'mg grateful for all of you!!

we bought a house!!

That's right!! We are homeowners!! We have been for over a week now! We are SOOO excited!! Before we move in we are going to remodel the bathroom. There was carpet in the bathroom...no thank you! Goodbye pee carpet! Right now it is COMPLETELY destroyed!! HA! We are really close to being able to build it back up. We are redoing the plumbing...which we weren't planning on doing at first but decided we better. I can't wait to start getting things back together! We also discovered we have real hardwood floors underneath all the carpet upstairs. WOOT! We are going to sand it and re-stain it. We are stoked! Plus, it will save us some moolah!!

So far we haven't had too many surprised. We did find some ugly linoleum underneath the carpet. I will take that over mold!

In other happenings....our friends Andy and Danielle got married! It was a lovely wedding and they both looked sharp! We are so happy for them! We never thought Andy would get married!!

I was also able to get together with my old college roommates last week! Rachelle is moving to North Carolina and Kourtney is moving to Nebraska. Both of them are moving at the end of the summer so we got together for dinner before we all departed ways! It was so wonderful to see them! I love those girls so much! Kourtney's son, Boston, took the first picture. I wish it wasn't blurry but I still love it!

That's all folks! Most of our time is spent at the house getting things ready! I will post some more pictures, like the bullet hole we found in the floor, next week!!

an update of life

Hey all!

Here is an update...

We celebrated out 6th anniversary at the beginning of the month! 6 years people! We went out to dinner and then spent the night at a hotel. It was a great little getaway! When we got out of our car at the hotel, Daren goes, "Well that's creepy." I look over to the huge moving truck next to us there was a MANNEQUIN...buckled in the passengers seat. It was SO creepy! I guess that is a good way to keep people from trying to steal your stuff. Love this man of mine!!

We finally got the garden at Daren's parents house planted! We are doing a HUGE family garden this year. Angie's kid planted 500 ft of corn by themselves! They are serious rock stars!!

We are loving this wonderful summer weather! Last weekend Adi and Daren were playing in this little house and it was pretty adorable! They are 2 peas in a pod! Adi LOVES her Uncle Daren. And I dare say that Uncle Daren loves that little Adi!!

Susi, Jenn, and I threw a bridal shower for Danielle this week! It was pretty fun! We are so excited for Danielle and Andy to get married!!

Across the street from Jenn's house are goats. Annie and I went over after the shower to pet them. They were so cute!

Daren's cousin, Miranda, got married this week too! We had a little adventure and drove up to Grace for her reception. She looked beautiful and it was great to see some family we don't normally see!

And last but not least...OUR HOME! We have been working on some things on the outside of the house. We had to paint some exposed wood for the loan and put up new rain gutters. It looks so much different already! We are suppose to close this week! We are SOO excited!!

Next time I blog we will be homeowners!! Let the projects begin!!
