Last week ours friends, Annie and Harley, threw a Cinco de Mayo party and it was freaking fun!! They had a nacho bar and churro cupcakes! YUMMO!!

PLUS!! They had a pinata!! Seriously so fun! We have some pretty awesome friends!!

P.S. We found a house!! Well, pending an inspection of course. That will be ordered tomorrow! As long as everything goes smoothly, we will close June 10th! It's a little red brick rambler that needs some love! We are so excited!!

birthdays, blessings, and a death

What a weekend guys!! Actually I should say what a week!!

We have been getting my in laws house ready for a baby blessing and an appraisal. This week we painted the entire upstairs. It was intense but it looks SOO much better!! Painting the stair case walls was super intense! Let's just say the phrase, "Don't worry, we have Aflac," was used a lot this week!

Saturday we spent 14 hours working in the yard and doing all of our usual Saturday shopping and chores. We moved hot tubs, trailers...twice, planted flowers, cleaned out ponds...the list goes on and on. It was exhausting but once again it looks SO good outside. I wish I had taken before and after pictures. Here is Daren cleaning out the pond at 9:30 at night. What an adventure!!

Saturday night I got a phone saying my Grandma Hansen wasn't doing well and it was only a matter of time before she would pass away. I went to bed fully expecting to wake up not having my grandma anymore. But that didn't happen. Of course it was on my mind all day. It was testimony meeting and one of the very last people to get up started talking about how her grandma died last week. Needless to say, I lost it. Then the closing hymn was 'Be Still My Soul.' Guys, it wasn't pretty. Anyways, we bolted out of the chapel pretty fast. My grandma passed away about 10:30 Sunday evening. It was such a bitter sweet thing. Of course you never want to lose a family member but she had been battling cancer. I know she is in a better place and healthy. The funeral is Friday.

Sunday was a special day for the Tibbitt's family. Baby Jacob was blessed and we also celebrated Kayzen's 6th birthday. Daddy Luiz gave a beautiful blessing. We sure do love the Bastos family!

My little Monkey is turned 6! I can hardly believe it. I tried to talk him into staying 5 but he didn't like that idea. The poor little guy didn't feel very good the first part of the day. But soon after eating cake and opening presents he started to perk up a little.

In other shenanigans...
I love my Sunday movie and cuddle time with my 2 boys!

We had our first snow cones of the summer!! Oh man they were so yummo!!

We were driving home from grocery shopping and Daren had to slam on the brakes for a red light. Well that made some of our groceries fall to the ground and one of Daren's energy drinks sprung a leak. We had grape Amp juice all over. He had to drink it sideways really fast on the way home. It was pretty hilarious!

Sometimes when we are playing games at the dining room table Bear will come lay his head on my feet. I love it!

That's all for now. Hopefully later this week I will have time to blog about the Cinco de Mayo party we went to yesterday. And of course the funeral.

Much love to you.

easter

Hello all! I have been waiting for about an hour to blog. The power was out and I had no internet. It was sad. But now all is well.

Our Easter was quite marvelous. Friday night we tried to dye eggs. It was mostly James doing it. We used Kool-Aid and it worked pretty well once they dried.

Saturday morning we drove down to Salt Lake. We went to breakfast with my family and then saw Heaven is for Real. It was pretty good. Kind of slow but it had a good message to it.

My aunt had an Easter feast at her house and it was quite delightful. It was great to spend time with my grandparents and aunts.

We drove to my aunts with my brothers. While we were driving there we saw this guy driving with his foot out the window. It was pretty hilarious...so what did Shane do? Stuck his foot out the window too! I love my brothers! Mom and dad weren't entirely pleased with his decision...mainly dad. HA!

The rest of the day we spent hanging out with my family and relaxing.

Sunday we went to church with my parents. The era of the palm leaves is officially gone! Bishop Hansen is here and is making changes!! The new Easter program was very nice...and normal. HA! I love my family so much! I am so grateful for the great relationships we have with each other.

We came back to Logan Sunday afternoon just in time for dinner and Easter basket hunts!

Daren taught Adison about what the beaver says and he does a little beaver noise. Well she thinks it is so funny! Doesn't she look so grown up?!

James and Susi brought over a new bubble machine and it is awesome!! I seriously want one! The kids LOVED it!

Time to find the baskets! We hid them pretty well. Most of them had trouble finding them. Except for Adi. She went straight to hers. I'm not sure how she knew where it was! Love these kiddos lots and lots!

One last note, the other day Adi was over playing outside. She kept putting rocks in her pockets. So many that her skirt fell down! She didn't quite understand but I thought it was hilarious!

I am so grateful for my life. Grateful for our families and our friends. Grateful for our health. Grateful for our Bear doggy.Grateful for my sweet husband and all he does for me. And it's all because of Him. And for that, I am forever in His debt.
