shannon's 30 birthday

Guys! My BFF turned 30!! She actually turned 30 at the end of December but it was a weird time so we waited and celebrated it last weekend.

Let me tell you. I have know Shan since right before 7th grade. That's a flipping long time! I seriously love her SOOOOO much!! Not only is she beautiful on the inside and out but she is freaking hilar! We have a very similar sense of humor. Some people don't get it. But she gets me. I get her. We get each other. We are so much alike...we should be sisters. People actually think that we are sometimes.

Anywho! Anytime we get to spend the ENTIRE day together is a serious good time!! We started off by getting massages. Yup...a couple massage. After our massage our hair was all greasy and messed up (didn't think about that one when I planned this) so we ran over to Marci's salon hoping she had something to help us. While we were there I took the plunge...I cut my bangs! I have been thinking about doing it for quite some time but was so nervous. I'm so glad I did! I love them!

Anywho...back to Shan!

Then spend like one million years looking for a stupid car wash. HA! Once we found one, we belted Frozen songs while in said car wash. Next, we met Cheri and baby V for lunch and had a great time! It was so nice!

Then we all went SHOPPING! We shopped all afternoon! It was quite wonderful!

After shopping we met up with some friends and had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It was YUMMO!! I am pretty sure everyone around wanted to beat us. When we get together we tend to be kind of loud...oh well! We had such a great time!!

I am SOO thrilled I got to spend the day with my little birthday girl!!

Hello my loves!

Lots of stuff has been happening...well I guess not THAT much, but we have been doing some fun things! Making memories...isn't that what life is all about?!? Or is that family?!

Anywho!


We celebrated Daren's birthday one last time with some friends. It was great to be with everyone. We are blessed with some amazing people in our lives! While at dinner Adison drank water out of a cup like a dog. And ate straight butter with a knife. Don't worry we made sure she didn't stab herself...she was in rare form that night!

Susi and I took Makayla to get a pedicure. We went to lunch, did some shopping, and then got our pedis. It was a fun little girls afternoon. We are hoping to make it a regular occurrence.

On the way home she drew Susi and I some pictures...if they don't melt your heart, you must have a black soul!! I love being an aunt!!

Susi had her hip replaced last week. I took the day off and drove her down to it. It was pretty intense..checking in was intense, the surgery sounded intense...but the good news is she is doing well. Drugged but doing well. She will be back on her feet in no time!

birthdays!

We have had some birthday recently!!

A puppy and a hubby birthday! Oh man guys! I LOVE these two SO much!! They are my life and I am beyond grateful for both of them. I know it probably seems silly to love your dog so much but he really is our baby. You can judge us if you want!

For puppy's birthday we did all this favorite things....he got a ride in the truck, he played at the park (not on his actual birthday because it was freaking freezing...but he did play at the park during his birthday week), he got a cheeseburger from Sonic, AND he even got a piece of cake! We stopped at Kneaders and got him a slice of carrot cake. It was HUGE and weighed like 5 pounds, I swear! We only gave him half of the piece. Mama ate the other half a few days later...it was YUMMO! Anywho! I don't know about you guys but I'm not sure there are many dogs who get real carrot cake for their birthdays!

A few days later it was Daren's birthday! Guys...seriously...I don't know what I do without my hubby! He makes me laugh everyday, he takes care of me ALL.THE.TIME and never complains about it, he is SO generous and so selfless...I could go on and on! We have been having his favorite meals all week (and he has been cooking them too. I'm a terrible wife, I know). He has been saving his Christmas money and birthday money and he FINALLY got his XBOX ONE!! He was SO excited. It was quite adorable! He bought some more extension boards for the train game...I told you we were obsessed.

HAPPY 2014 EVERYONE!!

I can hardly believe that 2013 is over!! It was a pretty good year...even though, you know, we got sued and everything! Daren and I really do feel very blessed and are very grateful for those who helped us and supported us through this year. I like to think that we handled ourselves quite well!

We are definitely excited for this year. It's going to be a good one! I can feel it in my bones!!

Anywho! This year we rang in the New Year with our family and friends, the train game, and dirty diet cokes! We had a great time! Lots of laughs and loves! Well mostly...there were some tense moments during the train game but we still like each other. Do you guys know what the train game is?? It's called Ticket to Ride and we are OBSESSED with it! Like...it's scary. But we LOVE it!! We have played it almost every night since we got it...which was on Christmas...

New years day we went to the Jump Zone with James and Susi and the kiddos. It was a good time! It was so fun to watch Adi figure it out! And Haden just fits right in! He was gone the minute his shoes were off! P.S. It's really hard to take a picture at a JUMP zone...yikes!!

In other random pictures...here are a few goodies from recently...

We went and saw the new Hobbit movie and look who showed up for it? Gandalf! I don't care much for the movies but I will never pass up a good photo op! Looks pretty good, don't you think?!

Do I even need words for these next two? Seriously...I could squish her all day long!

 Daren and I were at Old Navy this weekend and saw these cute little coke cans. They don't look little but they were like half the size of regular cans...Anywho, we bought some and enjoyed them...on the furniture in front of Downeast...in the middle of winter. I bet people thought we were LOCO! But we sure enjoyed ourselves!
