Friends...A couple of weeks ago I crossed something off of my bucket list. Do you know what I did?! I WENT TO SEE CELINE DION!! You heard me! It was AMAZING!!
Let me start from the beginning.
Thursday night, Daren drove me to Ogden so I could spend the night at Ally's house. First we went to dinner with our hubby's. Then Daren went home. One of the first things I did after he left was...super glue my fingers together!! Holy freak it hurt so bad! Luckily Ally is awesome and took care of me!
Friday morning we got up early and headed to Vegas. We did make a quick pit stop to the craft store though...
Anywho, we got to Vegas...well technically we stayed closer to Lake Mead. Our hotel was literally in the middle of nowhere. It was like a scene from a horror movie. For reals. We checked into our hotel and then headed down to the lake where Shannon and Traci already were.
I don't think I took at pictures that day...Bummer.
Saturday we headed into Vegas for a girls day and
CELINE!! On the agenda was lunch, mani and pedi's, shopping, dinner, and the concert.
When we first got to the hotel we wanted to find out where the spa was so we knew which direction to head. There was a Customer Service type guest so we went to ask the lady sitting at it. Her exact words were "Well, I don't work here but the elevator is over there." Really? You don't work here yet you are sitting behind the Customer Service desk like you do? Interesting..
Lunch was hilarious! Our drink waitress didn't speak very good English...when she asked what we wanted I told here that I was just going to drink my water bottle but maybe I could have some ice for it.
WELL! She took that as we were
ALL going to share my water bottle. So she just brought up 4 cups of ice. One by one I think everyone eventually got their drink...except maybe Ally. She kept trying to talk to us and we couldn't really understand her. Ally is pretty sure she asked
us if the sphincter was good. It was hilar.
Do you guys know who Nicea Degering is? From Good Things Utah? Don't you think Shannon looks like her? Look her up. Cause she does.
Next we went to get our mani and pedi's. First of all don't EVER got to the Golden Nugget Spa AND don't EVER take a Groupon with you! I had called them TWICE before we even went to make sure they could accommodate all 4 of us at the same time. Oh sure not a problem! When we got there is was a totally different story! They had 3 of us at one time and then Traci like 2 hours after. Seriously!? Plus, they weren't even nice or apologetic to us! It was seriously so annoying!
Luckily, we are awesome and made the best of it. Somehow they managed to get us all done in a decent amount of time...even if they did cut our services short. We did go take advantage of their "spa" area where the hot tub and stuff is. They had a super nice changing area and we had ourselves a good time. I totally wiped them out of shower caps! It was sound lame but I was REALLY excited about it!
Mouth wash shots.
SHOWER CAPS!
When we were leaving the girls at the front desk asked if we were ready to check out and told us our total was $24 for gratuity. Um...you treat us like dirt and expect a tip? I don't think so! They said our services were worth almost $200 and that we should leave a tip based on that. WELL! If I felt like I got that kind of service I would! They were so annoyed. It was awesome....That reminds me I still need to e-mail them and complain.
Our next adventure was getting out of the stupid parking garage! We didn't know we were suppose to bring our little parking ticket up with us so the spa just gave us a piece of paper with "SPA" stamped on it. We gave it the lady, who once again didn't speak English, and she was so mad! She threw it on the ground and started yelling at us. I am still not sure what language it was in or what she was saying. She finally opened the stupid gate for us. Pretty sure she was still yelling when we drove away!
Our next stop was the Vegas sign. There was a guy there that I assume was working. He would take pictures of people and they would tip him. He asked Shannon if he could feel her belly. She said yes. So he was rubbing it and then told her it felt like his girlfriends boobs.
AWKWARD! Then he spent what felt like hours telling us how to pose. It was annoying. We didn't tip him. But we were grateful he took our picture!
We went to the outlet malls and did some shopping. We all brought different outfits to wear to the concert so we changed in the mall bathroom. Then it was off to dinner!
This is our "Facebook photo"
We went to Margaritaville and it was so yummo!! Then we headed to the concert!
AHH!!! It was
SO GOOD!! I cried. Don't judge me.
She looks so good!! And sounds so amazing in person! I would go back and see again in heartbeat!
Technically, we weren't allowed to take pictures but I found that when there was a standing ovation it was easier to sneak in a picture!
On Sunday we spent the day on the lake. It was beautiful and so relaxing!
Monday we came home! Of course we had to stop at the giant chair in Beaver...that is where Shannon bought us these giant jaw breaker suckers!
SO random!
It was a most excellent weekend but I was so happy to see my hubby and Bear doggy!!
